The ART of Ballet Winter Intensive Dresden is open to dancers aged 14+, advanced students, pre-professional students and professional dancers with a strong interest in intensive classical ballet training, repertoire and artistic development.

Admission is based on age, technical level, training background and the available places within the appropriate group. Each application is reviewed individually. Professional dancers are welcome to apply for the complete programme or approved limited professional training options.

Professional Dancer Rate

A special course rate for dancers under contract with a professional dance company, or who previously worked under a company contract for more than one year.
Proof of professional status is required.

Observation Classes

For dance teachers, pedagogues, rehearsal directors and professionals in dance, movement or sport who wish to observe the training and working methods of the ART of faculty.

SCHEDULE

A full working day.

The intensive runs for five consecutive training days from 26 to 30 December 2026. Training begins at 10:00 on 26 December and the intensive concludes at 17:00 on 30 December. Exact group allocations, studio assignments, breaks and faculty schedules are confirmed in the participant information before the course.

The programme may include classical ballet, variations and repertoire, Forsythe-based movement and choreographic work, body awareness or dance-science input, artistic feedback and individual coaching, depending on the confirmed faculty and group structure.


 
OBSERVATION CLASSES

Professional development through observation.

Observation Classes are designed for teachers, dance pedagogues, rehearsal directors, professional dancers developing their teaching practice and relevant dance or sport professionals.

Observers can focus on class architecture, exercise development, musical choices, correction language, level adaptation and the relationship between technical, artistic and physical development. Observation does not include permission to film or interrupt classes.


 
ACCOMMODATION & MEALS

Plan your stay independently.

Accommodation is not included in the course fee and ART of does not operate participant accommodation. We strongly recommend booking early and checking cancellation conditions directly with the accommodation provider.

Hotel options can be searched via ART of HotelPlanner or booked directly with a hotel, hostel or apartment of your choice.

Consider the travel time to Palucca Hochschule für Tanz Dresden, Basteiplatz 4, 01277 Dresden.

Meals and drinks are not included in the course fee. Participants should arrange their own lunch and refreshments during the day. Information about available options at or near the venue can be provided before the intensive.

For participants under 18, accommodation and supervision outside the course hours remain the responsibility of their parents or legal guardians.


 
SCHOLARSHIPS

Selective support for artistic development.

Scholarship availability for Dresden 2026 has not yet been announced. If tuition support is offered, eligibility, required material, amount and deadline will be published separately. Any award applies only as confirmed in writing and does not cover the EUR 40 application fee, travel, accommodation, meals, insurance, coaching or optional photoshoot unless expressly stated.


 
APPLICATION & PAYMENT

Apply first. Pay tuition after admission.

Applications are reviewed individually based on age, technical level, training background and available places.

A non-refundable application fee of EUR 40 is payable after successful submission of the application, except where mandatory law requires otherwise.

After admission, the course fee must normally be paid within 14 days to secure the participant’s place. Payment can be made by bank transfer or PayPal. Payment details are provided with the admission confirmation.

The full course fee must be received before the start of the intensive. Payment by instalments may be possible upon prior agreement.
