Who can apply?
ART of Ballet Winter Intensive Dresden is designed for advanced students aged 14+, pre-professional dancers and professional dancers. Professional observers may apply for Observation where this option is available for the relevant edition.
Can a professional dancer apply?
Yes. Professional dancers may apply to the Dresden Winter Intensive. Professional status and any applicable tuition arrangement are assessed separately and are valid only when confirmed by ART of in writing.
Can I attend only part of the intensive?
The Dresden Winter Intensive is designed as a complete five-day programme from 26–30 December 2026. Requests for individual days, partial attendance or another attendance arrangement may be submitted for review but are possible only when expressly confirmed by ART of.
What is Observation?
Observation offers methodology-focused professional development for ballet teachers, pedagogues, rehearsal directors, professional dancers developing a teaching practice and relevant movement or dance specialists.
Are Observation sessions only passive attendance?
Observation is intended to provide professional insight into class structure, exercise development, corrections, musicality, communication and adaptation for different levels. Observers may not teach, intervene in classes or record programme activities unless ART of has given prior permission.
Which photographs are required?
Applicants should submit one clear portrait photograph and two full-body dance photographs in appropriate dance attire. The application form displays the accepted formats and previews the selected files before submission.
Is an audition video required?
A 5–10 minute audition video is optional for a regular application unless ART of requests additional artistic material during the evaluation. Scholarship applicants must provide the artistic material specified for the relevant scholarship application.
What should an audition video show?
The dancer’s full body should remain clearly visible. The video may include barre work, centre practice and a short classical or contemporary variation. Female applicants at an appropriate advanced or pre-professional level should also demonstrate pointe work.
How much is the application fee?
The application fee is EUR 40, plus any applicable third-party payment fee if the selected payment method involves one. It is paid after the secure application form confirms successful receipt. The application fee is separate from course tuition and is non-refundable except where mandatory law requires otherwise.
Does payment of the application fee confirm admission?
No. Payment confirms neither admission nor a scholarship. ART of reviews the submitted information and artistic material and sends every admission decision in writing.
When does the Dresden Winter Intensive take place?
The ART of Ballet Winter Intensive Dresden 2026 takes place from 26–30 December 2026. The programme is planned as five days of intensive training. Any edition-specific change will be published under Practical Information and communicated to confirmed participants.
When will the faculty and repertoire be announced?
Teachers, coaches, repertoire and collaborations are announced only after written confirmation for the relevant edition. This prevents provisional or outdated information from being presented as final.
Are scholarships available?
A limited number of full or partial tuition scholarships may be available for selected dancers. Scholarship availability, scope and selection are edition-specific, and a scholarship exists only after written confirmation from ART of.
When is the Dresden scholarship deadline?
The applicable scholarship deadline and required artistic material are published separately for the Dresden edition. Applicants should consult the current Scholarship page before submitting a scholarship request.
Is accommodation included?
Accommodation is not included in the course fee and ART of does not operate participant accommodation. The planned course venue is Palucca Hochschule für Tanz Dresden, Basteiplatz 4, 01277 Dresden, Germany. Can participants under 18 attend?
Yes. The programme is open from age 14. For participants under 18, a parent or legal guardian must provide the required authorisation and remains responsible for travel, accommodation and supervision outside the published course hours.
Are photographs and videos taken during the intensive?
Yes. ART of and persons authorised by ART of may photograph or film programme activities in accordance with the applicable Terms & Conditions. There is no separate optional Yes/No Promotional Media Consent in the general Dresden application process. For participants under 18, the Terms & Conditions are accepted by the parent or legal guardian.
Are uploaded files protected?
Application files are processed through the secure application system and handled in accordance with the ART of Privacy Notice. Only the specified file formats are accepted and submitted files are validated before processing.
When is the final schedule sent?
The detailed participant schedule is normally sent shortly before the intensive, once groups, studios, faculty assignments and programme details have been finalised. The final participant schedule takes precedence over provisional website information.
